Indian Cricket Fever in Pune

world-cup-2011
The game of cricket has been known since 16th century, but it was played internationally from 1844. It first originated in England and the first international cricket test match was played between England and Australia. Australia won the match becoming the team to win the first test match in the cricket history. Today, there are many teams playing test and one day matches internationally.

The people in Pune are crazy for cricket. People in Pune city fix up large screens and projectors in public places whenever there is any important cricket match been played. The spirit of World Cup is on a high and people consider India as the main contender for the world cup. On the day when India is playing any match, whole city is deserted. Lightning of crackers is common after winning the match. The day appears to be like Diwali on an Indian win.
India vs Australia
Australian team has been dominating the world of cricket for recent years, but the World Cup 2011 quarter finals match between India and Australia on 24th March 2011 proved that the dominance of Australia now no longer exists. India won the match by 5 wickets and 14 balls remaining. Thanks to the terrific efforts from Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh who all scored half centuries in the important game. Suresh Raina accompanied Yuvraj to win with unbeaten 34 runs. With this win, Indian team qualified for the Semifinals where it will fight with the arc rivals Pakistan to qualify for the Final.

India holds a record of not losing even a single match against Pakistan in World Cups. It will be interesting to see whether Pakistan succeeds to breakthrough this record of Indian team. The match is scheduled on 30th March 2011 at Mohali. The India-Pakistan match is always a point of interest for all the cricket lovers.

Valentine’s Day in Pune

Celebrating Valentine’s Day in Pune is altogether a different experience. Are you wondering how? Check out by yourself.

Valentine’s Day
is the day of love when you forget all hatred and try to make your loved ones happy. Celebrating Valentine’s Day in Pune city is even more exciting and fun. The uniqueness of Pune is that it is a cool city and the month of February is the perfect one for celebrating the day of love and affection.
Valentine’s Day
When its time for the V-day, you would find girls dressed up pretty and guys clean shaved. Couples would crowd malls and gift shops to pick the best gifts for their dear ones. Some choose words to express, while some choose gestures.

In Pune city, you will see people so enthusiastically participating in the celebrations. There are teenagers who would celebrate with friends at discotheques or throw a party to have a gala time with one another if not hooked with partners. Lovers choose places like Stone Water Grill, Garden Court and Oasis which are a little bit away from the city. The candlelight dinner with a cool breeze creates a romantic atmosphere at such places. You won’t believe, now-a-days even grand parents are being a part of Valentine’s Day as they find this concept to be appealing and amusing. Hence family get-togethers at pizza or ice-cream parlors are for sure.

Catching up a movie at multiplexes like E-square, Gold Adlabs or City Pride is fascinating and long drive to not so far happening places like Singhgad, Panshet and of course Lonavla is simply mind blowing.

Check out for a huge mob at Fergusson College, Jangli Maharaj and Mahatma Gandhi roads with flowers, balloons and decorations everywhere. If you wish to spend the evening at these places, you better hurry up as you would find no place at peak hours.

Wow! What a great pleasure to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Pune. Share your experience of 14th February.
